August MoonZoom: Silence (w/ Jeremy Mason)

Each month, we gather around the warm fire of community to be seen and heard, centering the questions that animate us.

August Theme: Silence

Individually and collectively, we tend to heavily regard and reflect on the sounds, thoughts, forms, and other tangible aspects of our lives which have associated descriptions or definitions.

However, the space (or silence) between these thoughts, sounds, stimuli give just as much context to the identifiable stimuli itself, yet we often fail to investigate or be curious about this silent aspect of our reality.

We all likely have a shifting relationship with silence, the stories which arise when we recognize silence, and perhaps a curiosity around how creating more intention around silent experience could serve as both healing and enlightening.

Let’s explore this universal commonality with one another, investigate whatever unique associations we may have with silence, and discuss the potential of creating more intention surrounding our relationship to silence.

This month’s guest inquirer is Jeremy Mason.

Jeremy is a graduate student in his last year at Naropa University in Boulder, CO, studying Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling. He experiences deep joy through play and subtle flips of perception. Being fascinated by many aspects of the human experience, he’s found himself in many wonderful and interesting circumstances which have greatly served his ability to proudly say, "I don't know." This ability continues to serve him daily and he hopes he never forgets it!
